  • What is counselling?
Counselling provides a safe and confidential therapeutic space for you to talk to a trained professional, who will listen to you without judgement about your issues and concerns and help you to explore your thoughts and emotions, with the aim to bring about positive change. It is a two way process. You need to find a counsellor that you can connect with, as it is important that the client and therapist build a strong rapport, it is the relationship that heals, and as you begin to trust you will find you are able to open up more to yourself.
  • What is integrative counselling?
The counsellor can use different techniques from different types of therapies to tailor their approach specifically for the clients.
  • How can counselling help?
In counselling you will go on a journey of self-discovery where you will become more self-aware, helping you to navigate through some of the difficulties life can challenge you with. It can improve emotional discomfort and help to build your self-esteem, empowering you to bring about change in a supported environment.
  • Are you fully qualified?
Yes I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
  • Face to face or online?
I offer both. It is personal choice. I am currently offering evening and Saturday morning appointments. Saturday mornings are for face to face appointments only.
  • Why do you give a free 15 minute consultation?
This is essential for both of us to get a feel for each other, so that we can work out if we are the right fit. It is not a counselling session and we will not go in depth into your presenting issues, here I will find out a bit about you, to help us assess if we are the right person for each other.
  • How long are sessions?
    Sessions are for 50 minutes.
  • How long will I be in therapy?
The aim is to not have you in therapy forever. You may want short term therapy for a limited time, or you may want open ended therapy. You get to choose. It also will depend on how much work you are willing to put into yourself outside of the therapy room.
  • Can I bring anyone with me?
No, therapy is between client and counsellor. If you have someone bringing you, please note there are no waiting rooms for them to use.
  • Can I use a translator?
I do not work with translators please seek a counsellor more suitable to your needs.
  • Can I park easily?
Yes, there is off street parking at the back and front of the premises.
  • Can I access by public transport?
Yes, I am close to Harold Wood station on the Elizabeth line, with a bus stop close by.
