Get to Know Me
Hi, I’m Melanie. A dedicated, registered member of the BACP. I am truly passionate about what I do, and will tailor an integrative and holistic approach to meet your unique needs. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and have successfully supported clients from diverse backgrounds with various challenges.
At Healy’s counselling, my goal is to create a calm, collaborative, empathetic, and non-judgemental environment. A space where you will feel seen and truly listened to. I will support you to navigate through life’s challenges, and collaboratively, we will explore the motivations behind various behaviours. As the trust develops and you begin to become more self-aware, we will work around traumatic events in your life, the way you feel, the way you relate to people, and we will aim to identify any defences that may have become destructive patterns. At your pace and autonomy, we will work towards bringing the unconscious aspects of your behaviours, into the conscious awareness, with the aim to empower you to bring about change or acceptance. I will be here to hold and support you as you go on your journey. You do not need to do it alone.
Before becoming a counsellor I worked in the corporate world, managing various teams to
Success. I would often find myself a natural confidant for people as they would trust me to share both their work-related challenges and their difficulties in their personal lives. There was something there, and this is when I decided to make a change and my journey into counselling began. My own experiences with counselling reinforced my commitment to this path and I have not looked back since the day it began.
The therapy relationship, is the therapy
