Get to Know Me

Hi, I’m Melanie. A fully qualified integrative counsellor, and a registered member of the BACP.
I am very passionate about what I do and I will draw on different aspects of my training, to tailor
an approach to best suit your needs. I believe it is the relationship that heals, and I see each
person as the unique individual that they are and have worked with clients from various
backgrounds, with different presenting issues.

Working with adults, in a calm, non-judgemental and supportive environment, my aim is to
provide you with an empathetic space, where you feel seen and truly listened to. I will support
you, to navigate through what is happening for you, and help you to explore why you do what you
do. I hope, that here at Healy’s counselling, you will soon feel at ease, and as the trust grows,
that you begin to open to yourself and learn to speak freely. As your become more self-aware as
you explore your feelings, boundaries and your patterns of relating to others, I will be here for
you, to hold you as you go on your journey. You do not need to do it alone.

Before qualifying as a counsellor I worked in the corporate world managing various teams to
success. I was a natural confidant for people. People seemed to be automatically drawn to me to
trust me with not only their difficulties at work, but also with their personal lives. This is when I
decided to make a change and began to explore this. There was something there, and that is
when my journey into counselling began. Having had counselling myself, I have not looked back

since the day my journey began.

The therapy relationship, is the therapy
